This category mostly pays in credits, and credits behave nothing like cash: they expire, they carry minimum-order rules, and they only spend inside the app that issued them. Where an entry shows a dollar figure, the guide tells you what that credit can and cannot buy. Instacart is the clearest case, at up to $40 split across your first two orders, each with its own minimum.

The two sides of a referral rarely get the same deal, and several providers here publish no figure at all for one side or both. Where there is no official number we print none, because the app shows you the live amount and no deal site, this one included, can promise it. The cash-like corner is phone plans, where the reward is bill credit that comes off a bill you already pay. It is also the slowest corner: Google Fi's $60 takes about 60 days to land, so treat it as a discount on a later bill rather than sign-up money.
