Chime never states a figure for your side. Its referral page says only that your friend receives $100 and that your bonus amount may vary based on your active offer when your friend signs up.
The one dollar amount Chime does print on its referral page belongs to someone else’s account, not to a rule you can rely on for your own.

Only one currency figure appears anywhere on Chime’s referral page, and it is not a rule for your own bonus.
The one sentence that carries the whole reward

The three steps the $100 depends on
- Your friend signs up for a Chime Checking Account through your referral link.
- They land one deposit of $200 or more within 45 days of opening the account.
- They activate the physical card within 14 calendar days of that deposit.
You are not paid at sign-up. Your bonus waits on your friend finishing those steps, on their schedule, and only accounts opened through your link count.
The number Chime won’t print, on purpose

Where your real number actually lives

“To see how many friends you have successfully referred and the bonus status for each, go to Profile > Invite friends in the Chime app. Your referral progress tracker shows the current status and bonus amount for every person you have invited.”
Open Profile > Invite friends and read the tracker; check again after your friend enrolls, since that is when the amount was set.

The annual cap

“Annual limit: You can earn referral rewards for up to 10 successful referrals per calendar year. Once you reach that limit, additional referrals in the same year will not generate a bonus for you.”
The limit runs on the calendar year, not a rolling twelve months, so December-January invitations straddle two allowances. Nothing we read promises a warning as you approach ten. We publish no annual maximum: ten times an unpublished, varying amount is still unpublished.

Sequence matters. Line the payroll change up first, then open the account, then wait for the card, or you spend part of the 45 days on nothing.
And it has to be the right kind of money
Chime’s exclusion list is long; the gig-economy line catches the most people:

Is it worth it?
