You will have seen 17%, 28% or 35% quoted around the web. Those come from individual affiliates with individually negotiated codes, not from a published rate. We know the buyer discount exists because Cypherock’s affiliate terms describe what happens when it does not apply, and nothing on any Cypherock page states the percentage, so the only honest way to find out what a code is worth is to put it in the basket and look. This is a hardware wallet, meaning a small physical device that holds the keys to your crypto offline so that a hacker who gets into your computer still cannot move your coins. It is a considered purchase, and with Cypherock it is an unusually final one.

Cypherock’s affiliate terms say the commission is “5%-30% of the sales price excluding shipping costs”, while its affiliate landing page invites you to “Earn 5%-33% for each sale!”. Both are live Cypherock pages and they do not agree. The commission is paid in USD by bank transfer or crypto, above a $100 payout threshold, between the 1st and 5th of the month, and only after the sale has survived fifteen days without a cancellation or a refund request.
Do this, in this order
- Accept that the order is final, or do not place it. Most hardware wallet makers give you at least a short return window; this one does not. Do your comparing, your reading and your second-guessing before checkout, because afterwards there is nothing to undo.
- Confirm this is your first Cypherock. Cypherock’s terms spell out the failure case: if a user has bought a Cypherock X1 before and uses a code, “they will not receive the discount on the product and neither will you receive the Affiliate Reward”. Buying a second device for a family member on the same account quietly costs you the discount.
- Check which variant you are buying. Cypherock states on its store pages that discounts, offers and coupon codes are valid on the Standard and Pro variants only. If you are pricing the cheapest model, assume the code will not bite.
- Read the published attack research before you spend the money. On November 21, 2025 the security firm DarkNavy published a detailed writeup of chained vulnerabilities in the Cypherock X1 Vault, covering control-flow hijacking over USB, extraction of firewall code, firmware tampering, and a weakness in how the device proves it is genuine: in the researchers’ words, “the device does not verify the cloud. If the goal is merely to bypass the device-side check, the client can simply return ‘success’ locally.” The same writeup criticizes how Cypherock handled the disclosure. We could not establish whether any of it has since been fixed.
- Buy from Cypherock or a listed reseller, and open the box like an inspector. Cypherock publishes an authorized reseller list. Buying outside it, or second-hand, carries the standard hardware wallet risk: a device that somebody else has already set up hands your crypto to a stranger the moment you fund it. Cypherock also puts the burden on you at delivery, requiring that you check the package was not tampered with and that the packaging is intact, and any damage claim has to be raised within seven days.
- Set the device up yourself and guard the recovery material on paper. Whatever the device shows you during setup as the way to restore your funds, that is the master key to everything on it. Write it down on paper, keep it somewhere private and offline, and never type it into a phone or computer, never photograph it, and never share it. No legitimate company, Cypherock included, will ever ask you for it.
Is it worth your time?
Hunting for a Cypherock code is worth about ninety seconds of your time, no more. There is a genuine first-time-buyer discount at the end of it, but since no published rate exists you cannot compare codes in advance and you cannot know you found the best one. Spend your effort on the decision, not the coupon. If you want a wallet purchase where the reward side is written down in public, Trezor publishes a flat 10% off for the buyer, and Ledger’s in-app referral pays a friend’s link up to $20 in Bitcoin.
