The affiliate terms name no reward, discount or credit for a buyer. BitBox is made by Shift Crypto AG in Zurich and sells a hardware wallet, a small device that keeps the keys to your crypto offline, so someone who breaks into your computer still cannot move your coins. The only thing BitBox sells that gets money to a friend is a gift card, which is exactly what it sounds like and is not a referral.
The refer-a-friend claim is copy-paste, and here is how we know. Several coupon aggregators describe a BitBox scheme where, in their words, your referral link will give both you and your friend a discount. That sentence is not BitBox policy and appears nowhere on bitbox.swiss. It is template text with a brand name slotted in: the identical paragraph, word for word, runs on the same aggregators’ ELLIPAL pages with only the name changed.

Do this, in this order
- Stop looking for a BitBox referral code. There is no in-app referral, no refer-a-friend, and no buyer discount attached to any partner link. The affiliate terms name no reward of any kind for a buyer.
- Do not trust the aggregator paragraph. The two-sided referral claim is boilerplate reused across brands. If a page tells you a BitBox link gets you a discount, that page has not read anything on bitbox.swiss.
- Buy from the official webshop. BitBox says this itself: buying from the official shop ensures authentic products directly from them, plus full warranty and support. It also publishes a list of authorized resellers and pickup partners if you want to buy in person. Skip third-party marketplace sellers: a wallet that arrives already set up is not one to trust.
- If you do hold a promo code, know where the box is. BitBox states that promo codes can only be entered during the order summary step, before payment.
- Write the recovery phrase on paper and keep it off every screen. During setup the device gives you a recovery phrase, also called a seed phrase: the words that are the master key to everything on the wallet. Never type them into a phone or computer, never photograph them, and never tell them to anyone. No legitimate company will ever ask you for them.
