Reading Costco's own pageCostco returns have almost no deadline. The exceptions are the whole story.
The receipt is old, the box is open, and you want to know whether you have missed the window. Electronics get 90 days. A short list is flatly non-refundable. Everything else: no stated time limit, and we mean that as a fact from the page, not a guess.

No window named for the membership at all: at any time

That is genuinely all the asterisk says. We are not going to write unlimited
either, Costco never does.

Electronics: 90 days from the date you received it

Named item by item, not by category: a dorm-size fridge is not automatically covered by the same 90 days as a full-size one, and a carrier-tied phone runs on its own contract terms as well.
Diamonds over 1.00ct: no deadline, but a process

“Members returning a diamond over 1.00ct must also present all original paperwork (IGI and/or GIA certificates) at which time they will receive a Jewelry Credit Memo. Within 48 hours, our Costco Graduate Gemologist will inspect for authenticity.”
A Jewelry Credit Memo, then, not cash on the spot.
Tires and batteries: their own warranty, not this guarantee

Costco's page carries its own metadata: Document ID CU2573, Version 18.0, Published Date 10/02/2025, live when we read it July 30, 2026. Version 18 means seventeen revisions since the original, and Costco publishes no changelog explaining what moved.
