Zengo’s referral program page returns a 404, page not found. We read the rest of the live site looking for a referral, invite, or refer-and-earn link, and there is none. Every dollar amount quoted for a Zengo referral traces back to a coupon or aggregator site, never to Zengo, and those sites do not agree with each other about what a new user has to spend to qualify. What is circulating is an echo of pages copying pages, with nothing at the source.

Zengo has historically operated two different things: a user referral program, which paid the new user something, and a separate affiliate program for creators, which pays the promoter and gives the person clicking the link nothing at all. The affiliates page was still live when we checked, and it invites applications from people “active on Twitter, Discord and Reddit”.

The program that would have paid you has vanished; the one that survives pays somebody else. If a page is offering you a Zengo bonus right now, ask which of the two it is describing.
What Zengo actually is, and the trade you are making
There is no seed phrase, and that cuts both ways. Most self-custody wallets, meaning wallets where you rather than a company hold the keys to your crypto, hand you a recovery phrase: a list of words that is the master key to your money. Lose it and your funds are gone; let someone else see it and your funds are theirs. Zengo splits your key material between your device and its own servers, so no single phrase exists to steal, and recovery runs through Zengo’s three-factor process instead.
The cost of that design is dependence. If half of your key lives on a company’s servers, you need that company to keep operating and to keep running its half. That was already the honest caveat before April 2026. With an acquisition in progress it carries more weight, not because anything bad has been announced, but because the arrangement depends on a company that is changing hands.
“Never hacked” is a marketing line, not an audit. It appears on Zengo’s own homepage, alongside “Hackers hate us” and an unsourced claim about the total value lost to seed phrase wallets. We found no third-party report of a Zengo breach, which is worth something, but it is not a clean bill of health from an independent auditor.
Do this, in this order
- Stop looking for the code. The referral program page returns a 404 and there is no invite link anywhere on Zengo’s live site. Any page still handing out a Zengo referral figure is copying an older page, which is copying an older page.
- If you already have the app, look inside it before you believe anyone. The one place a legacy program could still survive is the app itself. Zengo used to document the path as Account, then Earn Free Crypto, but that instruction comes from a Zengo blog post published in 2021, so treat it as a place to check rather than a promise.
- Weigh the acquisition, then judge the wallet on its merits. eToro agreed to buy Zengo on April 15, 2026. Pick this wallet because you want how it works, not because of a bonus that may not have survived the deal.
- Understand what you are trusting. No seed phrase means nothing to lose and nothing to be tricked out of, which removes the single most common way people lose crypto. It also means your access depends on Zengo continuing to run its share of the key and its recovery service. Decide whether that trade suits the amount you are holding.
- Install from official sources only. Download from Zengo’s own site or your phone’s official app store, never from a link in a message, a search advert or a social post. Fake wallet apps are one of the oldest routes to an emptied account.
- Nobody legitimate ever asks for your keys or recovery details. Zengo will not, its support will not, and eToro will not. Any message asking you to “verify” a wallet, restore it somewhere, or share recovery information is theft in progress.
Is it worth your time?
As a bonus hunt, no. There is nothing here to claim. As a wallet it is a different conversation: the no-seed-phrase design solves a real problem that costs ordinary people real money, and it does so by asking you to depend on a company that is currently being bought. That is a fair trade for some people and a poor one for others, and it has nothing to do with a referral code. If what you came for was a signup bonus, spend the ten minutes on an exchange offer that publishes its terms.
