The bonus is quoted to you in SB, so the conversion matters more than the headline. SB are Swagbucks’ own points, and its help center prices them the same way: a $3 Amazon card costs 300 SB and a $5 Walmart card costs 500 SB. So 1 SB is one cent. Hold that number next to any bonus you are shown, because a welcome bonus of 1,000 SB is $10, and a 300 SB one is three dollars.

Do this, in this order
- Convert the bonus to dollars before you decide it is worth your afternoon. Divide the SB figure by 100. That is your bonus in dollars. Swagbucks quotes rewards in points precisely because 1,000 sounds better than ten dollars.
- Take the number shown at signup as the only real one. The rules name no amount, and the help center’s 300 SB binds nobody. Screenshot what you are offered; if it does not arrive you will have nothing else to point at. Once you qualify, the rules promise you “should see the Rewards Bonuses in your accounts within three (3) days,” while one help article says the day after you qualify and another says “During the first week of the following month”.
- Watch the clock, and assume the shorter one. The rules say 30 days from signup. One help article instead says the 300 SB must be earned before the 1st of the next month, which for anyone joining late in a month is only days.
- Join with an invite code at signup, because there is no fixing it after. Prodege, which owns Swagbucks, says “only one Account is permitted per person in each Rewards Program” and bans VPNs, proxies, single-use mobile numbers and fake ID documents. Some countries and territories are excluded outright. If the invite does not attach when you sign up, Swagbucks says it cannot be added by hand afterwards.
Getting the points back out
The floor is 300 SB, or $3. Swagbucks’ help center says “You can redeem your SB for cash or gift cards with as few as 300 SB.” Its own example is a $3 Amazon card for 300 SB. We found no separate minimum in the Terms of Use.
Gift cards or PayPal cash. The help center offers both: “Via PayPal or you can cash out for gift cards.” PayPal is the one to pick if you want money, but your name and email on Swagbucks must match your PayPal account.
The bonus does not exist everywhere. Swagbucks’ own 300 SB article says it is not available in all countries and does not list which ones, so ask before you count on it.
We could not reread the live rules on September 25. swagbucks.com could not be opened that day. The copy of the rules Swagbucks keeps in its document store, dated January 15, 2024, carries the same terms quoted here, and the live page showed a March 24, 2026 revision with the same terms when we read it on September 18. The Prodege Terms of Use are “Last updated effective Sep. 1, 2025”. Neither commits to a bonus figure.
Is it worth your time?
Swagbucks is not a bonus play, it is a habit. The signup reward is small and not promised, and even a generous-sounding 1,000 SB is ten dollars for filling in surveys. If you want a clean dollar figure you can count before you start, look at the money apps that pay in cash. If you already use Swagbucks for the shopping and surveys, the signup bonus is a small extra on top of a habit you were keeping anyway. Separately, the help center describes a $10 Welcome Bonus for new members who spend “at least $25 on a single purchase” in an eligible shopping category.
If you refer others once you have an account, the rules pay you 10% of a friend’s SB earnings, uncapped, for as long as both accounts stay open. That share alone does not count as activity: log in, earn at least 1 SB yourself, or redeem at least once every 12 months.
