Kudos’ terms of service and its help center put the same rate in writing: 1,000 Boost points is $10. That makes one Boost point one cent and 2,000 Boost exactly $20. Boost is Kudos’ own points currency, and it comes out as PayPal cash or an Amazon gift card.

Once you've earned at least 1,000 Boost points ($10 value), you can redeem your rewards for PayPal cash or Amazon gift cards.
Do this, in this order
- Join through the link first, then shop. The referral has to attach to a new account. Kudos requires you to be at least 18. There is no geographic restriction written into the terms, but the PayPal payout needs a “Valid U.S. personal PayPal account in good standing,” so a US account is effectively the assumption.
- Make the qualifying purchase at least $30, and pay with a real card. The trigger is your own first Boost purchase of $30 or more. One rule can quietly kill the bonus: “Boost rewards apply only to the amount you pay with your credit or debit card.” Pay with a gift card or gift certificate and that portion earns nothing at all, referral included.
- Expect a long, layered wait, and do not chase it early. A purchase takes 24 to 72 hours just to show as pending. Ordinary Boost then sits “pending for 60-90 days while merchants verify your order,” and the referral reward specifically is “credited to your account no earlier than 30 days after the referred user’s qualifying payment.” The referred user there is you. Kudos’ own blog puts store confirmation at 45 to 90 days. Nothing has gone wrong at day 40.
- Count the $2.99 before you decide what you cleared. Non-Premium members pay a “$2.99 processing fee per redemption,” waived for Premium. So a $20 bonus cashed out on its own nets $17.01. Redeem once, in a lump: the fee is per redemption and not per dollar.
- Pick your payout carefully, because it is final. PayPal cash or an Amazon gift card, splittable between the two, both arriving within 48 to 72 hours. PayPal redemptions “are final once submitted and cannot be canceled,” and Amazon gift card links “expire after a set window and cannot be reissued once expired.” Redeem when you are ready to actually use it.
- Touch the account once a year. The terms require an active account and “at least 10 Points during each consecutive 365-day period” to keep what you have. The help center puts it more kindly: “Just use Kudos once every 12 months.” A forgotten account is a wiped balance.
The fine print that can still cost you the reward
Refunding the qualifying purchase can take the bonus back. Kudos reserves the “right to deduct, reduce, or void referral Boost awards previously credited” if the referred user, which is you, requests a refund or starts a chargeback. That is why the credit is held for at least 30 days. Keep the qualifying order.
The anti-gaming clause is broad. You “may not attempt to earn Boost points in connection with the Referral Program through fraud, deceit, or artificial or illegal means”. It is the clause under which anything unusual gets cancelled, so join with one account, through a link from someone you actually know.
The good news, for once. The terms carry a real last-updated date of August 26, 2026, the points rate is published in two places that agree, and both help center articles now match the legal text on the redemption floor.
Is it worth your time?
Yes, with your eyes open. Twenty dollars for one $30 purchase is a strong rate in this category, and Kudos does the rare decent thing of publishing what its points are worth. The costs are patience and $2.99: budget three months before the money is real, redeem in one lump, and never let a gift card pay for the qualifying order. The one thing to distrust is Kudos’ own marketing, which claims no cash-out minimum when its terms say otherwise.

Once you are a member, each friend who joins through your link and makes a first Boost purchase earns you 2,000 Boost ($20), and one who takes a Premium Annual or VIP Lifetime plan can add $50 in Boost rewards to your balance; monthly Premium plans do not qualify, per the help center read October 26, 2026.
