Revolut's US referral pays nothing to a new customer, full stop.
The governing document is Revolut's US Referrals Terms, last updated 16 June 2025, thirteen months ago, and the relevant line is not ambiguous. Signing up through a friend's invite can still be a perfectly friendly thing to do. It is just not a bonus.
Quoted from Revolut
“The Promotion is a one-sided campaign, where only the Revolut customer who was invited to refer a friend (not the Invitee) can be awarded any Reward/s.”
What pays what
| You, the new customer, after completing every required step | Nothing |
|---|---|
| A Revolut customer who never received an in-app invite tile | Cannot refer at all |
| This site, on any of it | Nothing, no link held |
What stops there being anything for you
1. The terms are explicit, and there is no version of this that pays you. Revolut hands the ability to refer out itself: "Anyone who has received an invitation to the Promotion directly from us on a tile in the home screen of the Revolut app (an 'In-app Referral Invite') is eligible to refer someone." You, the new customer, are never that person.
2. You may have to pay, out of pocket, for a step that gets you nothing back. One of the steps is to "Order a physical card (this may be subject to a delivery fee and/or a fee for the card itself)". That cost is real and it lands on you regardless.
3. There is a 14-day condition attached to the invite. The terms say the invite does not survive "if they close their Revolut Personal account within 14 days of opening it". If you are doing this purely as a favour, finishing the fortnight is part of the favour, even though nothing changes for you either way.
How to get the most out of this
There is no route through Revolut's US program that pays a new customer, so there is nothing to optimise for. If you want a Revolut account, opening it through a friend's invite costs you nothing extra and does them a favour; opening it directly at revolut.com costs you exactly the same nothing. Pick whichever is more convenient. If a signup bonus is what you actually came here for, this is not that offer, and the accounts below pay one.
Is it worth your time?
As a favour to a friend, sure, and it is a real account with real features. As a bonus, no. There is nothing on offer here for a new customer, and no way to read the terms that changes that. If a signup bonus is what you are after, the offers below hand the money to you.
