Do this, in this order
- Pick a full-service plan. The referral only pays on full-service plans. A data-only SIM or joining an existing group plan pays nothing, and there is no fixing it afterward.
- Sign up through the referral link first. The credit attaches at sign-up.
- Activate within 30 days of checkout, on a Fi-compatible device, signed in with the same Google account you used to order. A different email breaks the chain.
- Stay active 30 consecutive days and pay the first bill in full. Pausing service inside the window resets your progress toward the credit.
- Spend the credit on service, not hardware. It applies automatically to later bills for data, calls, texts, and device protection. It cannot pay for a phone purchase or financing.

Is it worth your time?
If Fi already fits your coverage and budget, this is the easiest $60 in the phone-plan world: the qualifying actions are things you would do anyway. The credit lands about two billing cycles in, so treat it as a discount on months two and three, not sign-up cash.
