A Copilot Money referral code makes your first free trial longer than the standard month, by an amount Copilot's own pages never state, and then the card on file pays $13 a month or $95 a year.
Copilot's help center describes the mechanism and stops there: “Once the code is entered, you'll be able to start your extended free trial.” The FAQ sets the baseline: “A 1-month free trial is included for new users.” Between those two sentences there is no number. What is certain is the shape of the deal: time, not money, on a product with no free tier.
What pays what
| You, entering a referral code when starting your first trial | An extended free trial; length not published |
|---|---|
| You, with no code | A 1-month free trial |
| You, after a trial has already started or been used | The code does nothing |
| Monthly, after the trial | $13 a month |
| Yearly, after the trial | $95 a year, shown as $7.92 a month |
| A subscription bought through the Apple App Store | Copilot cannot cancel or refund it |
If you've already started or used your Copilot free trial, you won't be able to enter a referral code for an extended free trial as these codes only work when starting a free trial for the first time.
Do this, in this order
- Use the demo before you spend the code. The homepage: “Take Copilot for a spin before you connect a single account. If you like what you see, you can start a free trial.” Because the code works only at the start of a first trial, decide whether you want the app before that step, not after.
- Get a code from someone who uses Copilot. The help center's Dashboard article says: “The Free Months section of the Dashboard features a unique referral code that can be shared with others to give them an extended free trial.”
- Enter the code at the right step. After creating an account and completing the first half of onboarding, you are offered the free trial. Select Enter Referral, type the code, and the extended trial starts. The Terms of Service say: “To obtain the free trial, you will be required to provide a credit card or other payment method in order to ensure uninterrupted access and continued use after the free trial ends.”
- Write down the end date and subtract a day. The trial converts to a paid subscription automatically at the then-current price, and cancellation must happen at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Monthly is $13; yearly is $95. Twelve months at $13 is $156 by our arithmetic, so the yearly plan is the cheaper way to stay.
- If you paid and regret it, move within the window. The Terms of Service: “If you (i) purchased through Copilot directly, (ii) cancel your subscription within one month of your initial purchase, and (iii) email us at support@copilot.money to request a refund within five days of cancelling, we will provide you with a full refund for that subscription.” Outside that, the fee is nonrefundable unless the law requires otherwise, and Copilot says any refund it chooses to give creates no obligation to give another.
The fine print that can cost you later
Apple purchases are out of Copilot's hands. “If you purchased your subscription through the Apple App Store, your subscription is managed by the Apple App Store directly. Copilot does not have the ability to manage your subscription on your behalf, including initiating, canceling, or refunding your subscriptions.” Cancel through the App Store, and expect Apple's refund rules.
Prices can change, and there is no price protection. Copilot may change subscription fees on a going-forward basis; if the price rises it says it will notify you and let you change or cancel before the change applies. It also says: “Please note that we do not provide price protection or refunds in the event of a price drop or promotional offering.”
US accounts only, no free tier. The FAQ lists what the app is not: “Not available outside the US. Copilot Money only supports US-based financial institutions and accounts.” and “Not free. Copilot Money is a paid subscription (with a free trial). There's no permanent free tier.”
What Copilot does not publish, and which page holds what
The length of the extended trial. The referral-code article, dated August 20, 2026, says the trial is extended and gives no figure. No referral terms document exists on any page we read, and no end date is stated.
Where each fact lives. The code mechanics are in the help center. The 1-month trial, the US-only rule and the no-free-tier line are on the FAQ page, not in the help article. The prices, $13 a month and $95 billed yearly, appear only in the homepage's pricing widget. The contract is the Terms of Service, last updated May 6, 2026.
Is it worth your time?
If you already want Copilot, yes, ask a user for a code before you start the trial: it costs nothing and cannot be applied later. Just do not expect to learn from Copilot how many extra days you got until you see the end date in the app. Then treat that date as the decision, minus a day, because the card on file converts the trial into $13 a month or $95 a year on its own.
Buy on the website if you may ever want a refund: the one-month, five-day window applies only to purchases made through Copilot directly.
