Examined Oct 2, 2026 Free workouts, not cash No link we may carry

ClassPass gives a new user 10 workouts free for a month, and the only safe day to cancel is the last one.

Worth it ifClassPass lists studios near you, you will use the workouts, and you will put the last day of the trial in your calendar. Miss it and you are on a paid plan, $59.00 to $99.00 a month by city, and ClassPass calls its fees generally nonrefundable. Cancel ahead of it and the rest of the trial is gone.

You need no referral for this. It is the trial on ClassPass's own sign-up page, which was headed Free for 1 month when we read it on Sep 18 and again on Oct 2. On Sep 18 that page had set its location to Cheney, Kansas; on Oct 2, to Los Angeles, and the plan it renews onto changed with it. ClassPass says trials run in select areas and that credit amounts vary by city, so what you are shown may differ. Its Terms of Use say a trial has the duration and price communicated at the time you sign up, so the sign-up screen is the offer.

There is one good day to cancel, and it is the last one. ClassPass's help article says: “Trial cancellations are immediate and will result in loss of credits and the cancellation of all scheduled classes.” The Terms of Use say: “Each trial membership automatically will convert to a regular monthly subscription and price unless canceled by 11:59 pm local time (based on your location when you signed up) on the last day of the Trial.” Cancel in week one and your remaining workouts go with it. Cancel a day late and you have bought a month.

The same small print adds that the offer is for eligible users only, that inventory varies by location and may be limited for trial users, and that credits expire. The page says workouts expire at the end of the trial and that ClassPass will send an email reminder before it ends.

Do this, in this order

  1. Check you are new. “ClassPass trial offers are valid for new customers only and can only be used once per person.” The Terms of Use go further: trials are for new users who have never had an account, there is one trial per credit card or payment method, and signing up for a second one is a violation of the terms. ClassPass decides eligibility at its own discretion.
  2. Read the sign-up screen for your city, then note the last day. The plan you will renew onto is stated when you sign up. The trial starts at the moment of sign-up, even if your first class is later, and ends at 11:59 pm local time on its last day. ClassPass promises a reminder email; set your own as well.
  3. Book with care. Each studio or gym can be visited once, and the help article warns: “If you book a reservation and then cancel it, you will not be able to book at that studio or gym again during your trial.” Fees apply for reservations missed or cancelled late, trial or not. ClassPass's fee article says you can generally cancel “up to 12 hours prior to start time with no charge”. Cancel inside that window, or miss the class, and your credits come back but a fee is charged: in the United States $10 to $56 for a late cancel and $12 to $62 for a missed class, plus tax. The fee for a given class is shown in its Cancellation Policy before you book. The terms add that a studio may charge you directly for extras such as a yoga mat or cycling shoes.
  4. Cancel on the last day, in your account settings, or decide to stay. If you cancel and do not convert, the terms say you may not attend classes that take place after the trial ends, even ones you booked during it. When a monthly membership starts, your credit count and studio visits reset and trial credits do not roll over unless the sign-up process said otherwise.
  5. If you stay, know the paid terms. The subscription renews and bills each month until cancelled, and you owe the fee whether or not you use it. On refunds the Terms of Use say: “WE DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR MAKE GOODS FOR ANY PRIOR MONTHS INCLUDING FOR UNUSED CREDITS, ZERO-CREDIT RESERVATIONS, OR OFFERINGS.” ClassPass may change its prices from your next cycle after giving notice, and it reserves the right to charge a reactivation fee if you cancel and later return.

Where ClassPass's pages disagree, and what it does not publish

Free, or discounted. The sign-up page we read offered the month free. The help article on trials, which says it was last updated in January 2026, describes trying ClassPass for a discount, for a limited time, in select areas. Neither names the cities. Go by the screen you see when you sign up.

The size of the referral reward. The referral terms, last updated August 28, 2026, never state one. For you, the trial may include a reward or other credits at ClassPass's discretion. The page that advertises the referral program refused our request with a bot check, so we print no figure.

Who the referral program accepts. To join through a member's link you must be at least 18, new to ClassPass, and become a paid subscriber at the end of any free trial. Washington state residents cannot take part.

No end date. Neither the sign-up page nor the referral terms print one. The terms allow limited-time Special Promotions with larger rewards and their own end dates, and let ClassPass cancel the referral program at any time, at which point unused links are forfeited. The Terms of Use are dated September 2, 2026.

Is it worth your time?

Ten workouts for nothing is real value if the studios are near you and you will go. The cost is attention. You have to keep the trial open to the end to use it, then cancel before 11:59 pm on its last day. If you are someone who forgets, the honest price of this trial is one month of your city's plan, $59.00 to $99.00 plus tax on the pages we read, because ClassPass says its fees are generally nonrefundable.

If a friend is a member, signing up through their link costs you nothing and may add credits, though nobody will tell you how many in writing. If you expect to keep ClassPass, the trial is a fair way to test your local studios first. What your plan's credits buy in your city is not stated on the pages we read.
