Examined Sep 25, 2026 Paid in miles and a travel credit 48-month lookback

Capital One's Venture pays 75,000 miles for $4,000 of purchases in 3 months, plus a $300 credit that spends only inside Capital One Travel, and nothing if you had a Venture or Venture X bonus in the past 48 months.

Worth it ifyou would put $4,000 on a card in the next three months without buying anything you did not already need, you have had no Venture or Venture X bonus in four years, and you will book a hotel or vacation rental through Capital One Travel within a year. Miss any of those and the $95 annual fee is the only certain number.

75,000 miles + $300 creditfor a new Venture primary account holder who spends $4,000 on purchases in the first 3 months, on the page as it read on September 25, 2026

The two parts behave differently. The miles are a rewards balance you can redeem for travel, cash back, gift cards or transfer to loyalty programs; the page says they do not expire for the life of the account. The $300 is a Capital One Travel Stays credit: it appears inside Capital One Travel, applies at checkout to hotel and vacation rental purchases only, and “Credits will expire one year after account opening.” The page's banner calls the pair over $1,000 in travel bonuses. Its own slider values 52,800 miles at $528, one cent a mile, so 75,000 miles is $750 at that rate, and $750 plus $300 is $1,050.

Four years, and the sister card counts. The bonus footnote says “You are not eligible for this bonus if you have received a new cardmember bonus for the Capital One Venture card or the Capital One Venture X card in the past 48 months.” If you took a Venture X bonus in 2023, you would still be paying the $95 fee on this card for a bonus you cannot get. Check your own records before you apply; the page will not check them for you.

From Capital One’s Venture page, bonus footnote. Read Sep 25, 2026.

Primary account holders only; the page notes that some cardholder benefits are not available to authorized users. The purchase rate is 19.49% to 28.49% variable APR, so carrying the $4,000 as a balance would cost more than the miles are worth.

Do this, in this order

  1. Check the 48-month lookback against both cards. A new cardmember bonus on Venture or on Venture X at any point in the past four years ends this before it starts. There is no partial bonus and no smaller offer for repeat customers on the page.
  2. Apply from the Venture page, in one visit. The footnote reads: “This one-time bonus is available by applying through this page, and may not be available if you navigate away from or close this page.” The page is badged a limited-time offer with no end date printed, so the terms you can see today are the terms; save or print them before you submit.
  3. Put $4,000 of purchases on the card in the first 3 months. That is roughly $1,333 a month, our arithmetic. The clock runs from account opening, not from the day the card arrives. Then: “Once you qualify for this bonus, we will apply it to your rewards balance within two billing cycles.”
  4. Spend the $300 inside Capital One Travel before the year is out. The credit shows at checkout and “The Credit may be used in whole for a single purchase or in part over multiple purchases.” No miles are earned on the part the credit pays. If you cancel a booking, the credit comes back only if it has not expired: “An expired Credit will not be restored upon cancellation of the purchase by the customer.”
  5. Keep the account open and in good standing. The page makes that a condition of receiving or using the credit. Closing the card after the miles post would forfeit whatever credit is left.

What Capital One does not publish

When the limited-time offer ends. The page's top banner says “LIMITED-TIME OFFER:” and the offer block repeats it. No end date appears anywhere on the page, and no last-updated date either. Because the bonus is tied to the page you apply from, the practical end date is whenever the page changes.

Whether every visitor sees the same offer. The page states one flat number with no wording about offers varying by applicant. That is what we can say; we did not apply from two devices to prove the number is the same for everyone, so treat the figures here as the ones the page showed us.

A state list or an age. None for the card offer. The only age on the page is 18, and it belongs to the Capital One Dining benefit, not to the bonus.

A referral program. The Venture page names no refer-a-friend mechanic and no shareable code. The offer is claimed by applying, so no link of ours or anyone else's is involved.

Read the Venture pageThe bonus is tied to applying from that page.
Read the bonus footnoteFootnote 1 on the same page holds the 48-month rule and the credit terms.

Is it worth your time?

If you clear the lookback and $4,000 in three months is your normal spending, this is a printed offer with one fixed number, a printed spend and a printed window. The Gold Card page below gives only a ceiling and says offers vary. The miles alone, at the one cent a mile the page's own slider implies, are worth about $750, against a $95 fee. The $300 is real only if you would book a hotel or vacation rental through Capital One Travel inside a year; if you would not, count it at zero.

If you would have to manufacture $4,000 of purchases, or carry the balance at 19.49% or more, stop. And if you took a Venture or Venture X bonus in the past four years, there is nothing here for you at any spend.
