Blockchain.com Examined Jul 27, 2026 Paused right now Paid in ZETA

Blockchain.com has paused its referral program, and has not said when it comes back.

Think twicethere is nothing to earn today, no restart date is published anywhere, and even when it runs the reward is a volatile token rather than dollars. Worth knowing about, not worth waiting for.
CorrectionWe got this wrong on July 25, and it is worth telling you how. On that day Blockchain.com’s support site was refusing our requests. Their main domain showed no referral page, no referral entry in their own site index and no referral clause in their terms, so we concluded the programme did not exist at all, and rewrote this page to say so. On July 27 a tool that could reach the support site read the article live, and it is sitting there saying the programme is paused. Our original reading was right and our correction made it worse. The lesson is the one we apply to everybody else and had not applied to ourselves: when the pages that matter live on a subdomain you cannot reach, finding nothing on the domain you can reach is not evidence that nothing is there.
Paused right nowUp to $70 in ZETA when it ran8 US states excludedExamined Jul 27
Pausednothing is being paid today. Blockchain.com’s own referral article says the programme is “temporarily paused for maintenance and operational improvements”, and gives no date for its return

The article still describes the offer as it stood: “both you and the referred person will earn up to $70 worth of Zetachain (ZETA) each”. That is the number to recognise if you see it quoted elsewhere. It is not claimable while the programme is paused, and a paused programme is a programme the company can quietly retire.

ZETA is a token, not a dollar amount. Zetachain (ZETA) is the coin of a blockchain project, and unlike a stablecoin such as USDC it is not pinned to the dollar. So “up to $70 worth” is a claim about the value at the moment it lands in your account and says nothing about what it will be worth a week later. When the reward returns, treat the dollar figure as a starting price rather than a payout.

What pays what

You, today, while the programme is paused$0
Both sides, on Blockchain.com’s own description of the live offerUp to $70 in ZETA each
Residents of HI, LA, NJ, NY, NV, TN, TX and VANot eligible
Your sixth successful referral, and every one after it$0
Buying ads on Blockchain.com keywords to push your codeProhibited
This site, for every link on this page$0

Do this, in this order

  1. Do not go looking for a code today. The programme is paused, so no link, code or sign-up sequence produces a reward right now. Any site currently offering you a working Blockchain.com referral code is copying an old page.
  2. Check your state before anything else, if it restarts. Blockchain.com limits the programme to verified users in the United States and excludes eight states outright: Hawaii, Louisiana, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. That list, not the headline figure, is the first line to read on an offer like this.
  3. Count on five, not on a stream. Their terms cap each user at a maximum of five successful referrals. At up to $70 each that is a ceiling on the whole exercise.
  4. Never buy ads to promote your code. Blockchain.com prohibits promoting a referral code through paid advertising based on “Blockchain.com” or Blockchain.com-related keywords. Paying for clicks on a reward that is capped at five referrals would be poor arithmetic anyway, but the rule is explicit and breaking it puts your rewards at risk.
  5. Read the qualifying step on their page, not ours, on the day it returns. A paused programme usually comes back changed. When Blockchain.com restarts it, the amount, the exclusions and the qualifying action are whatever their article says at that moment, and that article is the only thing worth believing.
  6. If you want a crypto bonus this month, take one that is running. Several exchanges publish live referral terms with the amount written down.

The fine print, in Blockchain.com’s own words

Current status“temporarily paused for maintenance and operational improvements”
Reward when live“up to $70 worth of Zetachain (ZETA) each”, both sides
Who can take partVerified US users, excluding HI, LA, NJ, NY, NV, TN, TX and VA
Lifetime cap“a maximum of five successful referrals” per user
Paid advertising on their keywordsProhibited
Restart dateNone published

Every line above is quoted or drawn from Blockchain.com’s referral program overview, read live on July 27, 2026. “Verified” means you have completed their identity checks, which is a step in its own right and takes time. Note what the article does not say: how long the pause lasts, whether the $70 figure survives the restart, and whether anyone mid-referral when it paused will be paid.

Read Blockchain.com’s own articleWhere the pause notice sits, and where a restart would appear first. We earn nothing either way.

Is it worth your time?

Not today, because there is nothing to collect and no date to plan around. If it comes back, it is a modest offer with a hard ceiling: up to $70 in a token whose value moves, five referrals a lifetime, and eight states shut out. That is worth twenty minutes if you were opening the account anyway, and worth nothing if you were not. As a place to hold crypto, Blockchain.com is a long-standing company and you should judge it on fees and on whether you are comfortable with someone else holding your coins, not on a paused reward.
