Examined Sep 25, 2026 14-day refund, first plan only From $17 a month, billed yearly

Wix pays a new customer nothing for signing up through a link; what you do get is 14 days to change your mind about your first Premium plan, and no refund after that.

Think twicebefore you look for a Wix promo code. There is no bonus for you. The free plan needs no card and no code, and the only protection on paying is a 14-day money-back guarantee that covers your first Premium plan and nothing after it.

Nothingfor signing up to Wix through anyone's link or code

No link or code adds credit or lowers your price. What you get as a new user is a free plan, which the plans page lists with “No credit card required”, and a 14-day refund on your first Premium plan. The similarly named Wix Referral Program is an app a site owner adds to reward their own customers; it is not a Wix reward for joining Wix.

The refund covers one purchase, once. The Terms of Use say: “The Refund is applicable only to the initial purchase of a Premium Plan which is an upgrade of a free website. The Refund is not applicable to any additional purchases, upgrades, modifications or renewals of Wix Services.” The 14 days run from the moment you pay, because the help article says a plan “begins the moment that you purchase it” and cannot be paused or delayed. Buy before your site is ready and some of your 14 days are gone.

Do this, in this order

  1. Build the whole site on the free plan. The plans page lists it with “No credit card required”. The free version carries Wix ads and a wixsite.com address, and the help article gives it up to 500MB of storage and 500MB bandwidth.
  2. Buy direct from Wix. The Terms of Use say: “If you are a Reseller User, and you pay the Reseller and not directly to Wix, Section 6.4 does not apply to you.” Section 6.4 is the money-back guarantee.
  3. Check the price on the purchase page, not the plans page. For a US visitor the plans page shows Light at $17, Core at $29, Business at $39 and Business Elite at $159 a month, under this note: “Displayed prices are for yearly subscriptions, paid in full at the time of purchase.” And: “Prices do not include applicable taxes, which are determined according to your billing address.” So Core is $348 up front, plus tax.
  4. Decide inside 14 days, and expect a wait. Cancel within 14 days of purchase and the plan switches off at once; the refund goes to the card you used and can take up to 45 business days. The Terms add that the amount may differ from what you paid because of currency changes and third-party fees, and the help article says: “Wix is not responsible for any bank charges, commissions or overdrafts.”
  5. Turn off auto-renew well ahead. Renewing plans are charged at the same length as the first term, and Wix may charge the stored card “up to three (3) weeks before such renewal period commences.” For a yearly plan, Wix says it will endeavor to send notice at least 30 days before renewal. Domains need their own auto-renew switched off.

What Wix charges, and where its pages disagree

The US prices sit behind a placeholder. Fetched as plain HTML, wix.com/plans marks every paid plan “Price includes GST” under a note reading “Prices and currency vary by location. USD prices displayed for reference only.” That text is a stand-in. The page's code asks Wix which country you are in, loads that country's row from Wix's own price table, and for the US deletes the GST line. The US row: Light $17, Core $29, Business $39, Business Elite $159 a month, billed yearly. The same code runs a sale every week from Tuesday 7:00 AM to Thursday 7:00 AM GMT, headed “Special offer - 50% OFF select plans”: Core $14.50, Business $19.50 and Business Elite $79.50 a month, Light unchanged, and “Only valid for the initial term of yearly / multi-year subscriptions.” If you are buying a yearly plan anyway, buy in that window; the renewal is not discounted.

Free trial, or not. The plans page, asked in its FAQ whether a Premium plan can be tried for free, answers yes and describes the 14-day refund. The Premium pricing help article says: “We do not offer a free trial for Premium plans, but there is a 14-day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the plan you choose.” It is a refund, so you pay first.

No questions, with one reservation. The plans page promises a full refund with no questions asked. The Terms of Use, last revised July 9, 2026, keep a right to still charge for services actually received if Wix finds a cancellation was given in bad faith.

Is it worth your time?

Not as a bonus, because there is none. Judge Wix as a product, on the free plan, for as long as you like. Its guarantee is worth more than any code: a real 14-day exit on your first Premium plan, provided you buy direct, buy once the site is ready, and decide inside the window.

What the guarantee does not cover is where money goes. A domain is never refunded, a renewal is charged up to three weeks early, and used AI Credits cannot be returned even when the output has errors. Unused ones expire at the end of each month.

If you refer: Wix pays approved affiliates, not friends, when someone they sent becomes a Premium subscriber, and publishes no amount.
