Nuuly's public code TRYNUULY takes $28 off the first $98 month, and after that Nuuly charges $98 every month until you pause or cancel.
Nuuly's promotions page heads the offer “First Month for $70 for New Subscribers” and spells it out: “To redeem, enter code TRYNUULY when subscribing to receive $28 off the first month's $98 recurring subscription fee, excluding tax. New subscribers only.” The next sentence matters as much: “After the first month, subscribers will automatically be charged $98 a month on the billing date, unless the subscription is paused or cancelled.” TRYNUULY is Nuuly's own code, printed on its own page, not any person's referral.
What pays what
| A new subscriber with TRYNUULY, subscribed before 12/31/2026 at 11:59 pm PT | $28 off the first month: $70, then $98 |
|---|---|
| A first-time subscriber with a member's referral link | $30 off the first month, then $98 |
| A new subscriber with CRISP2020, which ran until 09/27/2026 and was no longer on the promotions page on October 1, 2026 | $20 off each of the first two months, now ended |
| A student verified through SheerID | $10 off every month for 12 months: $88 a month |
| A cancelled subscriber returning with HELLOFALL, which ran until 09/30/2026 | $28 off one month while it ran. The code was no longer on the promotions page on October 1, 2026 |
| Two subscription discounts at once | Not allowed |
By our arithmetic, a referral link makes the first month $68 ($98 less $30), two dollars better than TRYNUULY, and CRISP2020 saves $40 over two months but expired 09/27/2026, two days after we read the page.
Do this, in this order
- Choose one discount. Nuuly's help center says: “No. At this time, we only allow one discount to be applied to your Nuuly subscription at a time.” A friend's link is worth $2 more than TRYNUULY, but only if you have never had a Nuuly account: “If you've previously had an account with Nuuly, your promo code will not work.”
- Enter the code when you subscribe, not after. TRYNUULY cannot be applied retroactively to an existing subscription, and Nuuly's employees are excluded. You need a US address; Nuuly ships to all US states but not to PO Boxes or territories.
- Note your billing date. The date you enroll becomes it, and the fee is charged at 4 am EST. Enroll on January 15 and you are charged on February 15; enroll on the 29th, 30th or 31st and the terms move your billing day to the 28th.
- Do not pause in the first month if you want the discount. “If subscription is paused or cancelled during the promotional period, promotional discount will no longer be applied.” A pause lasts at most three months, then Nuuly charges the fee again automatically.
- To leave, send the whole box back first, then cancel. Use the return label Nuuly puts in each box, for every item. Items purchased from a box cannot be returned, and the terms say payments are generally nonrefundable, with no refunds or credits for partially used periods; where Nuuly does refund, it may choose to pay in account credit rather than to your card.
Where Nuuly's pages disagree, and what it does not publish
Several codes on one page. The promotions page we read on Sep 25, 2026 carried TRYNUULY, CRISP2020, HELLOFALL, a $20 purchase code called FALL4NUULY and a student discount at the same time, with end dates from 09/27/2026 to 12/31/2026. When we read it again on October 1, 2026, CRISP2020 and HELLOFALL were gone. It still listed TRYNUULY, for subscriptions created and completed before 12/31/2026 at 11:59 pm PT; a $28 code that arrives with a Nuuly Marketplace order; the $10 student discount; a $20 birthday credit; a $5 credit for a first review; and FALL4NUULY, a code Nuuly printed on Oct 1, 2026 with a 10/4/2026 expiry, at 11:59 pm PT. What your first month costs depends on the day you arrive and the code you find, and Nuuly can end each of them.
A one-month code with two-month wording. Shoppers at Anthropologie, Free People or Urban Outfitters get a code for $28 off the first month, yet its fine print says “After the second month, subscribers will automatically be charged $98 a month on the billing date, unless the subscription is paused or cancelled.” Assume the $98 starts in month two, as TRYNUULY's own wording says.
Recent terms, and a price that can move. The terms carry “LAST UPDATED: September 23rd, 2026” and reserve the right to adjust pricing at any time; staying subscribed after notice counts as accepting it. Nuuly also runs the Cluub, an application-only program for posters with at least 2,000 followers on Instagram or TikTok, whose members may not make disparaging claims about Nuuly.
Is it worth your time?
If you already like the idea of renting clothes by the month, yes: $70 is a fair price for a first box, and a friend's link knocks off $2 more. Put the billing date in your calendar the day you join, because month two is the full $98.
If you are only curious, count the exit before you start. To stop paying you have to get the box back by the Return Date, and anything that does not make it back from a partial return is treated as bought. A $28 discount is not worth a charge for a dress you meant to return.
