Disney+ gives a new customer nothing free: you pay $12.49 or $21.49 from the first day, a partly used term is not refunded, and the cut-off is 11:59 P.M. Eastern the day before your term ends.
The homepage lists Disney+ (With Ads) at $12.49 a month and Disney+ Premium (No Ads) at $21.49 a month or $214.99 a year, and nothing else for a new customer. The Subscriber Agreement, which carries the line “Updated: 2/5/2026”, leaves the door open and shuts it: “Availability of a free trial is not guaranteed and, if one is available, is only available on the specified terms of the free trial.” On our read date no page offered one. The one price aimed at a new customer is the student bundle: $6.49 a month for the ad-supported Disney+, Hulu Bundle while enrollment stays verified through SheerID, then $12.99.

Every figure is from the homepage on September 25, 2026. Some arithmetic: twelve months of Disney+ (With Ads) at $12.49 is $149.88; twelve months of Premium at $21.49 is $257.88, so the $214.99 annual plan is $42.89 less than paying monthly, the saving the page calls over 16%. The 6-month bundle lock costs $71.94 in total, then $12.99 a month; the page does not say whether it is limited to new customers. The student price is $6.50 a month under the bundle price.
Do this, in this order
- Find the Disney+ prices in the page text, because the plan grid hides them. The Choose your plan grid compares bundles with Hulu, HBO Max and ESPN; the price of Disney+ on its own sits lower down, in the FAQ. The Agreement asks for age 18, or the age of majority in your state.
- If you are a student, verify before you pay. The homepage's three steps are: create the account, verify with SheerID, then buy the discounted bundle. The footnote adds that ESPN subscribers and HBO Max-billed bundle subscribers cannot redeem it, and that anyone on a 6-month price lock can, with the student price starting when that lock ends.
- Write down the billing date and the cut-off. Payment is charged at purchase and at the start of every billing period. On prices: “In the event of a price change, we will attempt to notify you in advance of the change by sending an email to the email address you have registered for your account.” Do not cancel in time and the renewal goes through at the new price.
- Keep the payment method valid, because a failed charge does not just end the service. The Agreement says: “You will remain responsible for any amounts you fail to pay in connection with your subscription, including collection costs, bank overdraft fees, collection agency fees, reasonable attorneys’ fees, and arbitration or court costs.” It adds that credits on the account may be forfeited if the subscription is cancelled for failed charges, or if you switch billing to a third party.
- To stop, cancel where you are billed, before the clock below. If Disney bills you, go to disneyplus.com/account/cancel-subscription, log in and click Cancel Subscription. If an app store bills you, its terms govern. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current term.
YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION PRIOR TO 11:59 P.M. EASTERN TIME ON THE DAY BEFORE YOUR SUBSCRIPTION TERM ENDS IN ORDER TO AVOID BEING CHARGED FOR THE NEXT SUBSCRIPTION TERM.
What Disney+ does not publish, and what the Agreement adds
Any trial, on our September 25 read. The homepage never uses the word. The Agreement says one may exist, ties eligibility to whether you have used one before and how recently, and adds that you will not receive a separate notice that a trial is about to end. If one ever appears at sign-up, the reminder is your job.
Arbitration, with a 30-day way out. Section 7 has you and Disney+ agree to resolve all disputes by binding individual arbitration, with a class action waiver and a jury trial waiver; small claims court is the exception. Then: “To opt out, you must notify us in writing no later than thirty (30) calendar days after first becoming subject to this arbitration agreement; otherwise you shall be bound to arbitrate Disputes on a non-class basis in accordance with this Agreement.” The opt-out goes by mail, with your name, address and account email.
Prices that may not be the same for everyone. On tests of pricing, plans and features: “You acknowledge that these are implemented in our sole discretion, may be subject to additional terms, and may not apply to every subscriber.”
A referral reward. None exists for subscribers. The Disney+ Partner Program is an affiliate program for approved websites, run through Impact, not a perk to share with a friend. No end date is printed on any price.
Is it worth your time?
If you want to watch Disney+ this month, you pay for this month, and the pages say so plainly. $12.49 with ads is the lowest price for Disney+ alone; the Disney+, Hulu Bundle at $12.99 is fifty cents more. Nothing on offer makes today better than next month, so there is no deadline to chase.
A verified student who wants Disney+ and Hulu should take the $6.49 bundle, half the bundle price. Think twice about the $214.99 annual plan unless you are sure of the year, because no part of it comes back, and put the cut-off in your calendar as 11:59 P.M. Eastern, the day before.
