Nothing pays out until you clear $200 of spending. Bitrefill then pays you $5 in bitcoin.
Bitrefill sells gift cards and mobile top-ups, meaning credit you load onto a prepaid phone or a service account, and it takes crypto as payment. Your friend gets a link only once they have spent $200 there themselves. Sign up with it and, once you have spent over $200 on eligible products, Bitrefill’s help center says $5 in bitcoin goes to your Rewards Store Credit. So $200 of spending is a realistic figure for someone who genuinely uses it, and a tall order for someone who does not.

Do this, in this order
- Get the link privately, from a person. Someone who already has a Bitrefill account can send you their code directly. A code lifted from a public list is what Bitrefill's anti-spam clause targets, and you can lose the bonus.
- Use the link before you spend a single dollar. “Unfortunately, we are not able to retroactively credit referral rewards if the link was not used.” Sign up through the link first, then shop. There is no support ticket that fixes this afterwards.
- Verify your email address. Bitrefill names it as a condition, not a formality: “To receive the bonus your friends first need to reach $200 of spending on eligible products and verify their email address.”
- Do not put the $200 through the excluded products. Spending on FastBitcoins, Crypto Vouchers, and Thor products (Turbo and Recharge) generates no referral bonus. It is possible to spend well over $200 and qualify for nothing if it all went through those.
- Expect up to two weeks, and a human deciding. “After that, referral credits are reviewed and credited every 10 days.” A second help article says “within 14 days you shall receive the Referral Rewards you are entitled to.” The terms are blunter: “The allocation of rewards is not automatic and is conditioned upon prior review of compliance with these terms.” Meeting the conditions starts a review; it does not guarantee a payout.
- One account, one person. “Any attempt to misuse this program will result in exclusion from the ability to participate and removal of any bonuses from the accounts involved.” Note the word removal: bonuses already credited can be taken back, not just refused.
The fine print that can still cost you the reward
Bitrefill’s terms could not be opened when we came back. On September 25, 2026 its refer-a-friend page and referral terms were unavailable. The terms quoted here are as we read them on September 15, 2026. The figures come from Bitrefill’s help center, which answered normally; its referral article was last updated July 9, 2025.
Bitrefill can end your eligibility, or the program, at will. The terms reserve the right to “remove eligibility from any Customer for any reason at any time,” and to “extend or expire this program or change the terms at any time.”
The reward is store credit, not bitcoin you can withdraw. It lands in your Rewards Store Credit, and Bitrefill’s help center says cashback “cannot be withdrawn, transferred, refunded, or assigned, and can be used exclusively to purchase Products at Bitrefill.” We read the $5 the same way: something to spend there. It is priced in bitcoin, so its dollar value can drift before you do.
Residency and age rules are not in these terms. The refer-a-friend pages set no geographic or age conditions at all. Any limits of that kind would sit in Bitrefill's general terms of service, which could not be opened on September 25, 2026.
Is it worth your time?
If Bitrefill is already how you buy gift cards or top up a phone with crypto, then yes: get a friend's link before your next purchase, clear $200 in the normal course of things, and take the $5 in store credit. It costs you nothing extra. If you have never used Bitrefill, look at the shape of it honestly: a $200 spending gate for $5, and every route to a code that does not run through a person you know is against Bitrefill's own rules. It is a strange offer to chase, and a perfectly good one to accept if it happens to fit.
