Examined Sep 25, 2026 No free trial No refund when you cancel

Peacock gives a new customer nothing free: you pay $8.99 to $19.99 from the first day, a cancelled plan is not refunded, and the cut-off is the day before your billing date.

Think twiceif you were hoping for a trial, a welcome offer or a way to get a month back. Peacock publishes none of the three. Its terms still describe free trials, but no page we read offers one, and the cancellation article is plain that a cancelled or downgraded plan earns no refund. Pay for a month you mean to watch, and write down the billing date.

No trialand no sign-up reward of any kind, on every Peacock page we read on September 25, 2026

The plans page says it in five words: “Pick a Plan. Cancel Anytime.” Below that are three paid tiers and nothing else. The Terms of Service, which carry the line “Updated December 3, 2025”, still contain a whole clause on Free Trials and Promotions. That clause has nothing to apply to today. Cancel anytime is true, and it means the next charge stops; it does not mean the current one comes back.

Cancel on the billing date itself and you have paid for another term. The Terms of Service put it in capitals: “YOU MUST CANCEL YOUR SUBSCRIPTION NO LATER THAN THE DAY BEFORE YOUR NEXT RECURRING BILLING DATE IN ORDER TO AVOID BEING CHARGED FOR THE NEXT SUBSCRIPTION TERM.” No page gives a time of day, so treat the day before as the last safe day. On an annual plan, missing it by a day costs a year at $89.99, $129.99 or $199.99, and the cancellation article says no refunds or credits are issued unless the law requires them.

What pays what

Select: TV with ads; no sports, movies or Peacock Originals$8.99 a month, or $89.99 a year
Premium: TV, movies, live sports and Originals, with ads$12.99 a month, or $129.99 a year
Premium Plus: the same, with downloads and no ads, with limited exceptions$19.99 a month, or $199.99 a year
A verified student, 18 or older, on Premium$6.99 a month for 12 months, then $12.99
A new customer's free trial, welcome discount or referral rewardNone
Cancelling or downgrading partway through a paid termNo refund, access to the end of the term

Peacock labels each annual price “Get 12 months for The Price of 10”. On Premium, twelve months at $12.99 is $155.88, so the $129.99 year saves $25.89. Ads remain in channels, live sports and a few shows on Premium Plus. Prices are before tax.

Do this, in this order

  1. Check you can sign up at all. The Terms of Service say: “The Peacock Service is for individuals who are 18 years of age or older and reside in the United States (including its territories and possessions).” Companies and other organizations are not eligible.
  2. Pick the plan, then decide on monthly or annual. Annual saves the price of two months, and it raises the cost of forgetting to cancel from one month to one year. The terms let Peacock change the terms of any Service Tier, including the price, from time to time.
  3. Write down your next recurring billing date. The terms say it is on the account details page, and that billing may not fall on the same date each month; their example is a subscription started on August 31 that bills next on September 30. They also say: “You may not receive a separate notice that your Trial Period or Promotional Period is about to end or has ended or that your paid or full price subscription to the Peacock Service has begun unless required by applicable law.”
  4. Keep the login inside your home. The terms say “you may not share your subscription outside of your household” unless your Service Tier permits it, and define a household as the collection of devices associated with your primary personal residence. Then: “We may, in our sole discretion, analyze the use of your account todetermine compliance with these provisions.” The missing space is Peacock's. If it decides you broke the rule, it may limit, suspend or terminate access.
  5. To stop, cancel from your account no later than the day before the billing date. Log in and select Cancel All Subscriptions; that ends the base plan and every add-on. If there is no such option, the cancellation article says you may have subscribed through a third party such as Apple, Google, Roku or Amazon, and Peacock cannot cancel that plan; the third party must. An add-on with its own billing date keeps billing until the base plan's term expires unless you cancel it separately.
No refunds or credits will be issued, unless required by law for any prior payments made when you cancel (or downgrade) a Peacock Premium or Peacock Premium Plus plan.

The Terms of Service say the same: “WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ISSUE REFUNDS, CREDITS, OR DISCOUNTS IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION.” If Peacock does issue one, it is under no obligation to do so again, and may terminate the account. Do not plan around a refund.

What Peacock does not publish, and where its pages disagree

A free trial, anywhere but the contract. The Terms of Service say Peacock may offer subscriptions on a limited, free-trial basis from time to time, with sole discretion over who is eligible. On September 25, 2026, the plans page, the student page and the cancellation article offered no trial for any of that to apply to.

A referral or affiliate program. None appears on any page we read, and the addresses a program would normally live at returned nothing on peacocktv.com. The only discount is for students: “After 12 months, you will be charged $12.99 or the then-current retail price (+tax) each month until you cancel.” Twelve months at $6.99 is $83.88 against $155.88 at full price, a saving of $72.00, with annual verification through SheerID. The student page warns that “Eligible users who already have a paid Peacock subscription may need to cancel their existing subscription prior to redeeming this offer.”

Notice of a price rise, but not of a tax change, and no cut-off hour. “We will give you advance notice of any price change prior to the next billing date, but we will not be able to notify you of any changes in applicable taxes or fees.” If you do not cancel in time, the subscription renews at the new price; the terms name no minimum notice period and no time of day for the cut-off. For the account sharing policy they point to the Help Center. Its household article adds a test the terms lack: the residence is set “based on where you most regularly watch Peacock”, and away from home you can still watch “on a supported device associated with your household.” Another article caps an account at three streams at once. One point in Peacock's favor: disputes go to federal or state court, including small claims court, and “neither party will be required to arbitrate any claims against the other”.

Read Peacock's plans pageNo link or code is needed; there is nothing to apply.
Read the Terms of ServiceCancelling is in section 2.6; the refund rule is on the cancellation page; the student offer is on its own page.

Is it worth your time?

If you want to watch Peacock this month, you pay for this month, and the pages say so plainly. Nothing on offer today makes signing up now better than next month. A verified student on Premium gets the one real discount, $6.99 a month for a year.

Think twice if you expected a free trial, if you meant to split a login with someone across town, or if you tend to forget subscriptions. A forgotten annual Premium Plus plan is $199.99 with no refund, and the terms let Peacock renew you at a new price after a notice you may not see. Pick the plan, note the date, and cancel the day before it.
