Factor's 50% off covers the first box only, boxes 2 to 5 get 20% off, and the free breakfast is one item per box that ends for good if you cancel.
The banner reads “Get 50% Off + Free Breakfast for 1 Year”. The footnote at the bottom of the same page is the real offer: “‘50% Off’ offer is based on 50% off on the first box.” The second discount is described as 20% off your next month and applies to boxes 2 to 5. The pages we read print no plan prices beside the offer, so we put no dollar figure on it, and the footnote adds: “Discounts vary for other meal plans and sizes.”
What pays what
| Box 1 | 50% off |
|---|---|
| Boxes 2 to 5 | 20% off |
| Every box while you remain active | 1 single breakfast item, free |
| After you cancel, even if you reactivate | Breakfast offer invalid, not reinstated |
| Premiums, meal upgrades, add-ons, taxes, shipping fees | No discount |
| Box 6 onward | Standard rate, billed weekly |
Two more lines from the footnote: “Shipping fee applies on all deliveries.” And the offer may not be combined with gift cards or any other promotion, has no cash value, and is void outside the U.S. The Terms of Use limit the service to the contiguous United States and to residents aged at least 18.
The footnote matters because of the default in the Terms: “The discount found on the Voucher only lasts for the first week of your Plan unless it specifically states otherwise on the Voucher or when you sign-up.” The 20% on boxes 2 to 5 exists only because this offer states otherwise. Check that your checkout screen states it too.
Do this, in this order
- Confirm the discount at checkout. The footnote says the offer is only valid for new Factor customers with code and a qualifying auto-renewing subscription purchase. The pages we read print no code; Factor's coupon page says there is a promo code box at checkout. The Terms add: “Vouchers are only for first-time users of Factor, unless the Voucher states otherwise.”
- Expect a $1.00 authorization charge. As part of verifying a Voucher, the Terms let Factor charge your card a $1.00 authorization charge, refunded following successful authorization.
- Find your lock time on the My Menu page on day one. The Terms list the locks by delivery day: Saturday deliveries lock Monday at 11:59 PM Central, Sunday deliveries lock Tuesday, Monday and Tuesday deliveries lock Wednesday, and Wednesday deliveries lock Thursday. Your card is charged the following day. The Terms also say the lock for a first box or a reactivated account can vary from this schedule, and send you to My Menu to confirm it.
- Skip week by week. You are not charged for a paused week, but the Terms say pausing an order applies only to the week in which you pause, and automatic deliveries start again the following week unless you pause that one too.
- Count to five. At the expiration of the Voucher, the Terms say you will be billed the standard rate for your box on a recurring, weekly basis unless you cancel before the end of the Voucher period. Factor may also change your plan rate with at least ten days' advance notice.
- To leave, cancel before your lock. On the website it is Plan Settings, then the Status section, then the option to deactivate the plan. The Terms say you will not be charged for cancelling, and that there is no prorated refund for the then-current subscription week.
Please note that ability to change an order locks on a rolling basis five days prior to your scheduled delivery date.
And the consequence, from the same section: “If you do so after your lock day and time, you will be charged and receive your Box for that week, and the cancellation will take effect for the following Delivery Week.”
Where Factor's own pages disagree
The cutoff is stated three ways. The Terms of Use say five days prior, then give a schedule in Central Time in which a Tuesday delivery locks on the Wednesday before, which is six days. Factor's page on cancelling says: “Just be sure to do so by your cutoff: 11:59 pm PST, 5 days prior to your delivery.” Its coupon page says: “Orders are processed immediately after our weekly cutoff, which is always 11:59 pm CT on Wednesday for delivery the following week.” One names Pacific time, two name Central, and one says always Wednesday where the Terms list four lock days. The Terms point to the My Menu page in your account, so treat that as the answer and act a day early.
There are two terms documents on one domain. The Terms of Use that govern Factor carry the line “Effective as of 04/20/2026”. A second document, for Factor Form, a trading name of the same company, sits on the same site and is dated 9/23/2024. Check which one you opened.
What Factor does not publish
The referral reward. The Terms mention referral credits, so a program exists. When we read it, the referral page led to a login screen and the rewards page showed only the site's navigation. By September 24, 2026 the Terms of Use had dropped their Factor Plus membership section and gained one headed Terms of Use - Factor Cash, which says how a referral award is paid: “Factor allows you to load a non-refundable amount on your customer account, and Factor Customer Care may directly issue you an amount as compensation or as part of promotional programs such as referral awards ("Factor Cash").” That credit stays put: “Factor Cash funds can only be used on your customer account, and cannot be transferred to other accounts or individuals.” And it can lapse: “Factor reserves the right to expire and withdraw your Factor Cash funds that have been issued as promotions, discounts or compensation, upon your account cancellation.” The new section still prints no amount, read September 24, 2026.
Why there is no code on this page. “Factor reserves the right to withdraw or deactivate any of your outstanding referral credits or similar Vouchers in the event your referral code is posted to a third-party website (excluding your own social media profile(s) or blogs), or if you otherwise violate these Terms.” A code posted on a site like ours would put its owner's credits at risk. Factor may also withdraw any Voucher that was not purchased, for any reason, at any time.
An end date. Neither the banner nor the footnote prints one. The footnote says instead: “Factor has the right to end or modify any offer at any time.”
Is it worth your time?
If you already wanted prepared meals delivered, take it: half off one box and a fifth off the next four needs no friend and no hunting. The 50% is one box. The year of free breakfast is one item in each box you buy, and it is the part of the offer that rewards you for never cancelling.
The cost is a weekly charge that renews by itself, with a lock that falls five or six days before the food arrives and that Factor's own pages describe three ways. If you only want one box, find your lock on My Menu and cancel before it. You lose the breakfast offer, which only matters if you were going to stay.
